Troupe classes in Woodley, from local stages to the West End
Troupe is where natural talent meets real determination. Invited by audition, these dedicated performers train across every style to become as well-rounded as they can be.
Troupe
Students who display talent and commitment are invited to join our Company (Troupe). Only students who study in main school step classes can audition. Whilst natural ability is an obvious requirement, talent is nothing without the work ethic and determination to progress, along with an ability to adapt in all styles of musical theatre, so we take all of this into account when selecting students. We encourage our Troupe class students to be as well-rounded as possible.
Troupe have appeared in festivals, competitions, local fayres and West End shows in a variety of categories, theatres and performance spaces. It is a fiercely competitive industry, and we believe these specific classes and outside performance events prepare our students in an environment which will hopefully lead them into a professional Musical Theatre career. If not, they will develop skills for life!

We encourage our Troupe students to become well-rounded performers, building the discipline and versatility needed to progress in a competitive industry. Training and lessons take place in a focused but supportive environment, helping students develop their confidence, performance skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Frequently asked questions
- Abi Undrell
Abi was at Steppin Out until 2020 when she left to attend Artemis Performing Arts college full time. Whilst there she performed in South Hill Park shows Shrek (as a puppeteer for the Dragon) and Kinky Boots. She is now in her first year at the University of Chichester Conservatoire, studying Musical Theatre (Music). “My time at Steppin Out taught me so much about the industry and gave me some fantastic performing opportunities- Wembley Stadium, Silverstone at the GP weekend and Disneyland Paris as well as annual shows at real theatres. Private singing lessons were a must for me and gave me so much confidence. Steppin Out helped me to achieve my dream of studying Musical Theatre full time.
